Nobody can clone an Einstein!

There is a difference between controlled breeding and cloning. In animals you breed to promote specific characteristics to predominate. For example, the Holstein cows are bred naturally or by artificial insemination for super milk production, Jerseys for high cream content in the milk, pugs for their silly look, Leghorn chickens for eggs, other varieties for meat, etc, by deliberate determination of sexual partners. In agriculture and horticulture the same thing applies to produce stunning roses, hybrid (unfortunately stunted infertile) plants with desirable qualities, such as seedless grapes or cucumbers, plants resistant to insects or disease, or other features such as beans without strings or short and long season maturity, through manual pollination.
